RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — A man is recovering from minor burns after a boat caught fire near Peanut Island Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. and Riviera Beach Fire and Rescue said there were six to seven passengers on board when the fire broke out.
Rescuers transported a man to St. Mary’s Medical Center with minor burns while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Witness Bill Westley told WPTV the captain started the engine and was blown off the boat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
