24 Haitian migrants detained after ‘smuggling incident’ off Palm Beach shores

Palm Beach Shores, Fla. — Two Haitian immigrants were taken into federal custody after their boat disembarked behind the Singer Island Marriott Vacation Club.

Walter N. Slosar, the U.S. Border Patrol’s chief patrol agent, said a 33-foot boat carrying 24 Haitian migrants was on the beach behind the Ocean Pointe Marriott in Palm Beach Shores on Tuesday morning. on the shore.

Slosar said federal authorities were investigating “an incident of smuggling at sea.”
