Hurricanes’ game against Vermont canceled due to bad weather

The hurricane will extend the holiday season due to the winter storm that has swept across the country for the past week.

Miami’s home game against Vermont State scheduled for Wednesday night at the Watzko Center has been canceled due to weather-related travel concerns, the University of Michigan announced Tuesday. There will be no rescheduling of games this season.

With out-of-conference games canceled this week, the Hurricanes (12-1) will go 10 straight days without a game.Miami last played on Dec. 20 and won upset division rival Virginia. The Hurricanes’ next game is a trip to Indiana at 2 p.m. Friday against Notre Dame (7-5).

The win over the Cavaliers puts the Hurricanes at the top of the AP poll. Miami ranks 14th nationally, That puts them in second place in the league behind 13th-ranked Virginia.

Those who purchased individual game tickets for Wednesday’s game will receive a refund, while season ticket holders will receive prorated credits applicable to future purchases, according to the school. Season ticket holders may also request a refund by emailing canestix@miami.edu.
