The Rocky franchise and its spinoff, Creed, are more popular than ever, and the latest installment takes it up a notch. Not only did Michael B. Jordan direct “Tenet III,” but the entire project was shot in IMAX, a first for a sports film.
Michael B. Jordan is back in action in “Creed III,” and the stakes are even higher.
Micheal B. Jordan: “I want people to leave this movie feeling better than they walked in.”
The film means a lot to the actor, as he is making his directorial debut.
Micheal B. Jordan “You really put a part of yourself into your films, from personal desires and goals to flaws, failures, mistakes.”
Jordan took everything about the boxing team seriously.
Since 2015, he has been working on winning it.
That was the first time Jordan landed the role of Adonis “Donnie” Creed, the seventh installment and spinoff in the Rocky franchise.
Next up is “Tenet II.” The 2018 film was a box office success.
Fast forward to 2023, just a few days later…
Micheal B. Jordan: “Tenet III is not just a typical boxing movie. We really wanted to take the character’s emotional journey and put it in the ring and pay off in a practical way.”
It’s also the first sports film to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras.
Micheal B. Jordan: “You can see every drop of sweat, every bump, ripple on the skin, footsteps, fists and music. The lack of sound really immerses yourself in their whole world. In my life In the last seven years of my life, I have lived out my wildest dreams.”
Adonis is finally in a good place both personally and professionally.
But the blast from the past has a bone to pick, and of course, he wants to fight.
Creed is a great franchise for many reasons.
Mostly Ryan Coogler. He took Rocky and breathed new life into it, writing a story for younger generations while keeping its iconic history intact.
“Creed lll” is exciting and deserves the hype.
Ryan Coogler: “I hope the audience comes away feeling inspired and having the courage to do something that you wouldn’t normally do.”
Tenet III is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2023.
