Miramar Target cleared after suspicious package prompting evacuation found to be rubbish

Miramar, Florida. (WSVN) – Police have lifted the alert at Target in Miramar after determining that a suspicious package that caused the store to be evacuated posed no threat.

Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, 7SkyForce hovered over the big box retailer at 16901 Miramar Parkway.

According to Miramar police, a Target employee called them about the package, which was found outside the store in the back.

After the store was evacuated, a dedicated K-9 unit and bomb squad were called to the scene.

Police also established a cordon around Target.

At around 4.30pm, 7SkyForce captured the bomb squad robot as it approached the package.

About half an hour later, video of bomb squad officers analyzing the contents of the package was seen.

Target employees were seen standing in the parking lot, waiting for officials to determine if the package was safe.

At around 7.30pm, police confirmed the contents of the package were rubbish and said everything was normal.
