Pink Up Lauderhill bikers support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The city of Lauderhill was transformed into a sea of pink as supporters got on their bicycles for a 12-mile bike ride in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Lauderhill City Hall parking lot attracted a couple of hundred participants who came to attend the Pink Up Family Day & Community Bike Ride.

The event followed the Pink Ice, Light Up the Pink Ribbon Opening Ceremony in which Lauderhill Commissioner Lawrence “Jabbow” Martin presented and was joined by Lauderhill Mayor Ken Thurston and Vice Mayor Melissa Dunn.

After the bike ride that traversed through the streets of Lauderhill, free health screenings for blood pressure, glucose and sickle cell were conducted. Participants got a chance to take part in card games, food trucks and dominoes.
