Second Boca Masters Pickleball Tournament to be held from January 18th to 22nd

Boca Raton will once again be the mecca for the game of pickleball as the second annual Boca Raton International Pickleball Masters Tournament will be held at Patch Reef Park Tennis Center.

Foster Events Group will host a US Pickleball sanctioned event from January 18th to 22nd. Last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 1,000 pros and amateurs who set performance goals, tracked results and played against their peers in a sanctioned tour environment that complies with the nationwide Pickleball Guidelines.

The Gold Medal Sunday Pro Finals will be broadcast live on Amazon’s PICKLE TV global network, with Pro and Senior Pro matches on the Inside WORLD Pickleball YouTube channel and Facebook Live social media on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“The City of Boca Raton continues its successful partnership with the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, and this tournament will allow our area and city residents to watch some of the best pickleball players in the world and experience our world-class service,” said Paul Davidson, the city’s entertainment services director.

“My hope,” he said, “is that this campaign will encourage more of our citizens in solidarity to learn about and ultimately get involved in the game of pickleball.”

The five-day event will host more than 1,000 players and 3,000 spectators, including professionals, senior professionals and amateur pickleball players aged 18 to 80 from around the world. A vendor village offering a variety of food and the latest pickleball merchandise will be on site as well as local and national sponsors.

“The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District is pleased that Foster Events Group is bringing Championship Pickleball back to Boca Raton and the Patch Reef Park Tennis Center,” said Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District President Susan Vogelgesang. “We feel this provides a great opportunity for our community to witness pickleball at the highest level and are delighted to be hosting the facility,”

The 30K Boca Raton Masters will offer prize pools to their Shootout, Pro and Senior Pro medalists. Registration deadline for the first event of the 2023 season is January 8, with tickets sold out for many age groups

“This is the first professional pickleball tournament to be held at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton in 2022,” said tournament chairman Carl Foster. “Now in our second year we have even more courts, with a total of 36 pickleball courts, including a 564-seat stadium court with VIP and preferred courtside reserved seating for five days.”

Beginning January 18, popular new age/skill and gender divisions have been added for Over-50/Under-50 Doubles.
