Several flights delayed, throngs of passengers await IT outage at FLL

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – IT outages caused serious headaches for travelers in Fort Lauderdale early Saturday morning.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport tweeted a report of an IT outage affecting Terminal 1 security and other airport systems.

Passengers waiting to go through TSA formed long lines at the terminal. Local 10 spoke to a traveler who said she waited hours to board her flight.

“My flight is at 5:10,” Neemina Kabre said. “Right now, it’s 5:25. I don’t know when it will finally take off.”

The airport said it was working to resolve its IT issues to ensure all passengers reached their destinations.

An update from FLL on Twitter read: “All affected areas of Terminal 1 are back to normal operations. Our TSA partners are steadfast in handling the volume of passengers waiting in line. Waiting patiently for the #holiday weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
